In EasySLR, conflicts occur when multiple reviewers assess the same article and make opposing decisions—for example, one includes it while another excludes it. These conflicts typically arise during the Title-Abstract or Full-Text screening stages.
By default, only the Project Owner and Lead Reviewer can resolve these conflicts. However, enabling the "Allow Reviewer to Resolve Conflict" option in the project settings gives Reviewers the ability to resolve conflicts themselves.
Why Use This Option?
- Allows for faster conflict resolution, especially in large teams.
- Enables more autonomy for experienced reviewers.
- Reduces dependency on project leads.
When this option is disabled, only designated leads (Owner/Lead Reviewer) can resolve discrepancies, ensuring centralised control.
Steps to resolve a Conflict during “Title Abstract” screening:
- Click on the “Title Abstract” option under the “Review Stages” section from the sidebar on the left.
- Click on the "Conflicts" to access the list of articles where there is conflict in decision-making.
- Click on “Resolve Conflicts” to manually review each article:
- If you exclude the article, it will then be excluded.
- If, upon review, you determine that the article needs to be included, it will then be moved to the next stage.
Repeat the process for “Full-Text” screening to resolve the conflicts that may have occurred during that stage.
