EasySLR leverages proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms to help users screen articles more effectively and efficiently. The AI assistant saves users' time and effort by automating certain aspects of the screening process and providing smart suggestions. It streamlines the workflow by identifying potentially relevant articles and highlighting key insights, allowing users to focus on articles that need more in-depth analysis.
Follow the below steps to set up AI:
1. Click on “Settings” from the sidebar on the left.
2. Open the “AI” section to view the latest configuration.
3. Configure the AI settings, specifying the criteria and parameters the AI will use to provide suggestions during the screening process. This includes defining the PICOS (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Study design) criteria and other relevant factors.
- During the Title-Abstract screening phase, the AI analyses the article titles and abstracts, comparing them against the defined criteria. It then generates suggestions or recommendations and PICOS for each article, indicating whether it meets the specified criteria or not.
- Similarly, during the Full-Text screening phase, the AI examines the entire content of articles, including the text, tables, and figures, to assess their relevance and suitability. It provides suggestions for inclusion or exclusion based on this analysis, along with PICOS linking to the specific sections of PDFs where the information is extracted.
If you make any changes to the Protocol, refresh the AI under the Workflow Actions to get the suggestions based on the latest information.
You can also control the AI cost by selecting the appropriate option to rerun the AI as needed.
If you choose "All", the AI will screen all articles at that stage.
If you choose "Pending final decision", the AI will screen only the articles that are still pending to be reviewed, re-evaluating them against the defined criteria.
If you choose "Pending AI decision", the AI will screen only the articles that are pending to be processed by the AI.
At Data Extraction stage, you can choose whether to rerun the AI for fields that are blank (not extracted by AI earlier) or for all fields in a study at a specific extraction stage.
