How to Bulk Upload PDFs using Zotero/Endnote?

At EasySLR, we understand the importance of efficient workflow management, especially when handling extensive research literature. Our Bulk PDF Upload feature is designed to streamline your research process by allowing the seamless import of large volume of full-text documents, especially when integrated with your institution’s reference manager.

Benefits of the EasySLR Bulk PDF Upload Feature:
● Centralised Access: Facilitates a shared repository for your team, granting immediate access to all necessary full-text documents.
●
Future Reference: Creates an archive of reviewed full-text documents for any future reference or analysis.
●
Expedited Review: With pre-uploaded full texts, you're all set to begin with the data extraction, making the review process more efficient.

Compatibility Note: Our feature supports reference manager that can import RIS-formatted text file (.ris) and export XML file. Compatible managers include EndNote and Zotero (Download from here).

Using the Bulk Upload Feature:
  1. Preparation: Download the RIS file of citations with missing PDFs. This RIS file contains a unique identifier for each citation which is needed to match the uploaded PDF against the respective citation.
Navigate to Uploads>Full-Text> Using Endnote/Zotero> Download the RIS file.

  2. Retrieval: Use your reference manager to fetch the full texts using your institutional access.

  3. Export the EndNote/Zotero XML file.

Note- Ensure you select the "Show all fields" as output style when exporting XML from EndNote.

  4. Uploading: Import the citations back into EasySLR by uploading the EndNote/Zotero XML file and its corresponding 'PDF' folder. There is no need to rename or reorganise files.
    • 4.1 First upload the XML file.

    • 4.2 Next select and upload the PDF folder.

Should any documents fail to upload, they can be added individually or by repeating the process above.
