QC (Quality Check) & Decision Override Feature in EasySLR

QC (Quality Check) & Decision Override Feature in EasySLR

What is QC / Decision Override?
In EasySLR, Quality Check (QC)— allows Project Owners to review and revise final inclusion/exclusion decisions made during the screening process (Title-Abstract or Full-Text stage).

This feature ensures that critical decisions are protocol-compliant and consistent.

Why Use QC?
QC is valuable when:
  • You want to ensure reviewer decisions align strictly with the protocol
  • AI decisions need to be audited or validated
  • You need clean, audit-ready outputs for clients or publications

Who Can Perform QC?
Only Project Owners can access and perform QC actions.

QC is available at:
  • Title & Abstract (TiAb) stage
  • Full-Text (FT) stage
AI decisions can also be overridden.

When Are Articles Eligible for QC?
QC is available only for articles where a final decision has already been made at the current stage.

At TiAb stage, you can QC:
  • Articles moved forward to Full-Text (Included)
  • Articles excluded at TiAb

At Full-Text stage, you can QC:
  • Articles moved forward to Data Extraction (Included)
  • Articles excluded at Full-Text stage
How to Access QC
  1. Go to your Project
  2. Navigate to the TiAb or Full-Text review stage
  1. Click on the QC tab
  2. Search for specific articles using filters
  3. Override the decision

Bulk Action:
  • Simply apply filters, select the desired set of articles
  • Take action

Your chosen decision will automatically apply to all selected items.

  1. Your chosen decision and reason will automatically apply to all selected articles.

Random Sampling:
Random Sampling allows you to quickly pull a representative subset of articles from your QC pool without manually applying multiple filters. This makes quality control faster and more efficient while maintaining transparency.

How to Use Random Sampling in QC:
  1. Select Random Sample
    • Click on the Get Random Sample option in QC.
    • Enter the percentage of articles you’d like to sample.
  1. View Saved Sample
    • The system automatically creates and saves the sampled view with a date and time stamp.
    • You can return to this saved view later for reference.
  1. Start QC
    • Click QC Filtered to begin reviewing your sampled set of articles.
  • Random Sampling ensures that the selected articles represent the total QC pool.

QC Logic: How Decision Override Work
Scenario 1: Two-Reviewer Decisions
Reviewer 1: Include
Reviewer 2: Include

Override to Exclude
Both reviewer decisions are updated to Exclude

Scenario 2: Two-Reviewers and Final Reviewer
Reviewer 1: Include
Reviewer 2: Exclude
Final Reviewer: Include

Override to Exclude
Final decision is updated to Exclude
Reviewer inputs remain unchanged

Scenario 3: Single-Reviewer Project
You can directly override the reviewer’s decision.

AI Suggestions During QC
  • AI Suggestions, AI Notes, and AI PICOS are fully visible during QC
  • These help validate protocol alignment and guide final decisions

Logs & History
  • All overrides are logged in Article History
  • Any comments added during QC are saved for transparency

Can Overrides Be Reversed?
Yes. You can revise overridden decisions multiple times during QC. Each update is logged in the Article History for full traceability.

Points to Remember
  • QC is not available for articles still in conflict
  • You cannot override decisions until the article has reached a final decision
  • Only Project Owners can perform QC or view override options
