Full Text Retrieval in EasySLR
EasySLR is designed to streamline the screening process by automatically retrieving full-text PDFs as studies transition from the Title and Abstract Screening stage to the Full Text Screening stage. This automation is based on the availability of a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) associated with each reference.
How It Works
When a study advances to Full Text Screening, EasySLR will attempt to automatically retrieve the PDF using its DOI. The system primarily accesses Open Access articles and PDFs that are freely available through trusted sources.
Where Retrieved PDFs Appear
Successfully retrieved PDFs will appear in the "Articles to Review" section and are immediately ready for screening.
If the system is unable to retrieve the full text (e.g., due to paywalls or restricted access), the study will be listed under the "No PDF" section.
Note: EasySLR may be unable to retrieve full texts if the article is behind a paywall, requires institutional access, is from a non-Open Access or membership-only journal, or if the study does not have a valid DOI.
In these cases, you can manually upload the PDFs or use the bulk upload feature to continue with screening.
Managing DOI Inclusion
Automatic full text retrieval is enabled by default to provide quicker access to full articles. If you prefer to manage this manually:
Tip: Ensuring DOIs are included in your imported references helps EasySLR retrieve more full texts automatically.
