How can I edit/change my decisions?

EasySLR understands the importance of keeping screening decisions aligned with evolving project needs. To support this, reviewers have the option to update their decisions even after submission—provided the feature is enabled in the workflow settings.

This functionality is controlled by the “Allow Review Update After Submission” option, which must be enabled under Settings > Workflow. Once activated, reviewers can edit or change their previous screening decisions.

Why is this useful?
  • Provides flexibility for reviewers to revise decisions after further reflection or clarification.
  • Helps correct errors or misclicks made during the review process.
  • Supports dynamic protocol updates, allowing reviewers to align decisions with the most recent inclusion/exclusion criteria.
Note: If this option is disabled, reviewers will be unable to modify submitted decisions, preserving stricter review integrity.

This is particularly helpful during:
  • Pilot screenings
  • Training phases
  • Collaborative reviews where feedback may lead to revisions
Follow these steps to edit your decisions:
1. Open the "My Article Reviews" section from the sidebar on the left in the application.

2. To find the article that needs updating, use the Filter options provided for quick search, saving time and effort. You can filter articles based on Stage, Decision, Refid, or Tags. This approach helps you find the desired article accurately and minimises errors.
3. Click on the Update decision button next to the article.

4. The screening window will reopen. You can modify Include/Exclude reasons, notes, or tags based on the changes you need to make.

5. After making the desired changes, click the "Save" button to save the decision update.

Once the decision is updated, you can view the changes in the "My Article Reviews" section. This ensures transparency and allows you to keep track of the modifications made.

The Lead Reviewer and Project Owner can view the number of updates by a reviewer in the Quality tab under the Statistics section.

The Excel file will provide a breakdown of decision updates at the Title-Abstract and Full-Text stages, for the corresponding study.
